Hi! My name is Jen. I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, food enthusiast, and a very lazy chef. I like to sing really loud with the radio while driving, I laugh a LOT at bad puns (What do you call a T-Rex who runs a marathon? I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Media Production from SUNY New Paltz. I have a Bachelor of Science from RIT in Nutrition Management. I completed my Dietetic Internship through the University at Buffalo. And I’m working on my Masters of Science in Exercise Science. You might say that I really like school.
I have six years of experience in the fitness industry – teaching group exercise classes, teaching swim lessons, and working as a personal trainer. I like to pretend that I’m super athletic but I’m really just a former theater nerd who likes to Zumba and punch at the air in a Kickboxing class.
Now that I’ve introduced myself, I want to let you in on a secret – I have been in love with food my whole life. Who hasn’t? Unfortunately for me that led to being an obese kid and then obese adult. It wasn’t until I worked with a dietitian myself, lost sixty pounds through diet and exercise, and drastically changed my life that I realized my true love for nutrition and was finally able to develop a healthy relationship with food. It was thanks to that experience that I became a dietitian myself and now am here to help you.
I’m not here to make you feel guilty by following you around and slapping the bag of chips out of your hand. That wouldn’t help you and it would also be kind of creepy. I want you to be happy and successful and will do my best to help you achieve your health goals all while learning about food from a top tier nerd. Nutrition made me the healthiest version of myself.
